Stable Housing, Strong Communities & Food Security

Housing is not just about buildings—it’s about stability, health, and community.

Our integrated housing approach:

1-Expand rent relief, eviction prevention, and foreclosure prevention programs to keep families housed.

2-Invest in deeply affordable, publicly accountable housing, led by nonprofits and community organizations—not luxury developers.

3-Support small-scale housing solutions, including mini homes, tiny home villages, modular housing, and accessory dwelling units, especially for:

o People experiencing or at risk of homelessness

        o Seniors aging in place

o People with disabilities seeking independent living

o Veterans transitioning to stable housing

4-Expand community land trusts and publicly owned housing to keep homes permanently Affordable.

5-Require universal design and ADA accessibility in all county-funded housing. Prioritize adaptive reuse of vacant or underused public land over speculative Development.

6-Integrate community gardens into affordable housing, mini-home communities, schools, and public spaces to improve food access, health, and neighborhood connection. Protect tenants through strong enforcement, right-to-counsel, and anti-harassment protections.

Housing policy must stabilize lives—not enrich developers.

Community Gardens, Climate Action & Public Health

Climate solutions should improve daily life while protecting our future.

Our vision:

1-Expand community gardens across the county, especially in food deserts, dense neighborhoods, and near affordable housing.

2-Ensure gardens are ADA-accessible and welcoming to seniors, people with disabilities, and families.

3-Support school-based and intergenerational gardens connected to education, nutrition, and mental health.

4-Provide funding for water access, composting, tools, and technical support.

5-Plant trees and expand green spaces in high-heat and underserved communities.

6-Reduce emissions through smart growth, transit-oriented development, and walkable neighborhoods.

7-Transition the county fleet to electric vehicles and expand renewable energy, including solar on schools and public buildings.

Environmental justice means cleaner air, healthier food, and safer neighborhoods.

Strong Public Schools & Support for Every Student

Our public schools must serve every child—not just those with privilege.

Our commitments:

1-Fight for fully funded, transparent MCPS budgets with clear accountability.

2-Support competitive pay, staffing, and professional support for educators and staff.

3-Ensure full compliance with special education and disability rights laws.

4-Expand mental health services, trauma-informed care, and academic support.

5-Support students experiencing homelessness, family instability, or economic hardship.

6-Partner with parents, educators, and students to rebuild trust and improve outcomes.

Strong schools require honesty, equity, and respect.

Disability Rights, Aging with Dignity & Veteran Support

A county that works for its most vulnerable residents works better for everyone.

I will fight to:

1-Enforce and expand ADA compliance across all county programs, transportation, and Facilities.

2-Increase funding for independent living supports and accessible services.

3-Expand aging-in-place programs, home modifications, and transportation for seniors. Support caregivers with respite care and resources.

4-Ensure veterans have access to housing, healthcare, mental health services, and employment opportunities.

5-Make county services easy to navigate for seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans.

Dignity, independence, and care should never be optional.

Inclusive Economic Growth & Good Jobs

Economic growth should lift communities—not leave people behind.

Our approach:

1-Create good-paying jobs with strong worker protections.

2-Expand workforce training for people with disabilities, veterans, displaced federal workers, and older adults.

3-Support small businesses, cooperatives, and local entrepreneurs.

4-Invest in sectors where Montgomery County leads:

  • Healthcare & Life Sciences
  • Hospitality & Tourism
  • Technology & Cybersecurity
  • Agriculture & Agritourism

5-Ensure development dollars deliver real community benefits.

Opportunity must be shared—not concentrated.

Protecting Immigrant Communities

Immigrants are essential to Montgomery County’s strength.

We will:

1-Limit cooperation with ICE to the fullest extent allowed by law.

2-Keep schools, hospitals, and county agencies as safe spaces.

3-Expand access to legal services, language access, and workforce pathways.

4-Protect immigrant workers through strong labor enforcement—without ICE involvement.

Safety, dignity, and opportunity belong to everyone.

Transparent, Accountable County Government

Residents deserve a government that listens and delivers.

I will:

1-Demand clear, accessible budgets and ethical governance.

2-Center lived experience—especially from renters, disabled residents, seniors, veterans, and working families.

3-Measure success by real outcomes, not press releases.
